Two Ways to Improve Your Yoga Workouts Between Classes

Your yoga workouts can be made better by adding on various different yoga accessories, all of which will help you get more benefits from this discipline. Here are a couple of the ones that I have found to be extremely beneficial, and which I would like to pass on to you.

The yoga DVD is an invaluable tool in the event that you are self-conscious when attempting to do yoga inside the classroom environment; either because you don't like people watching you, or because you can't keep up with the level that other people are working at. With a yoga DVD there's no need to feel intimidated by new postures, because you can practice them at your own pace until you're comfortable in the privacy and comfort of your own living room. You'll find DVDs for children -- even toddlers -- beginning yoga, pregnant women and of course experienced yoga practitioners.

A yoga ball, also known as a balance ball, is one of the greatest exercise inventions of all time. Just sitting on it improves your core muscles and strengthens your ability to balance yourself in any position. Doing other exercises while sitting on a yoga ball intensifies the effect of the exercise; for example, you can increase the workout effect of sit-ups and crunches by doing them on a balance ball. If you like to multitask, you can give your core muscles a workout while working in your office by using a yoga ball chair instead of a standard office chair. It will also help avoid the neck ache and backaches that typically go along with using a computer all day at the office.

Of course going to a yoga class consistently, whether everyday or once a week or once a month is the best thing for yoga discipline, but adding in yoga DVDs and a balance ball are definitely worth considering for improving strength in between.
